Leman Construction is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for visitors of all abilities. This site aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard adopted by Ontario for the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation under the AODA.
Conformance
Aiming for WCAG 2.1 AA.
This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1, Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing priority, and we intend to test the site, including automated checks, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility, as the site continues to develop.
Ontario IASR / AODA
AODA-aligned.
The Ontario Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) require WCAG 2.0 Level AA conformance for public-facing websites of qualifying organizations. Leman Construction targets WCAG 2.1 AA, which subsumes the IASR requirements.
Specific measures
What this means in practice.
- Color contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and graphical UI components.
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable with the keyboard alone. Visible focus indicators appear on all interactive elements.
- Images carry descriptive alternative text where they convey meaning. Decorative images are marked as such.
- Form fields are associated with visible labels and use ARIA attributes for error messaging that screen readers announce.
- The site respects the prefers-reduced-motion system setting. When a visitor opts out of motion, scroll reveals and page transitions render statically.
- Headings follow a logical hierarchy. Each page has a single H1 describing the page topic.
Limitations
Honest about gaps.
Third-party embeds (the Cal.com booking calendar and the Sanity-managed CMS at /studio) are tested against the same standard, but their interactive accessibility depends on the vendor and may not always meet WCAG 2.1 AA in full. We monitor these and switch vendors when a better-conforming alternative is available.
